Day four - Troy and snowball fighting
The trip to Troy was again, very cold, but also very interesting. Our guide, Nico, tried to keep us engaged while also trying to keep us all in the cold for the least possible amount of time.
The Trojan horse was great to climb and many pictures were taken. The cold won the battle in the end and we decided to take the early ferry and go back to the Agora Guesthouse in Istanbul. We were all thankful for the long coach trip in the warmth. On arrival in Istanbul, we were amazed by the amount of snow!! War broke out as the front of the guesthouse turned into chaos. Friends turned against friends in the epic battle of snow.
It was safe to say, we all had great fun!

Felix : we woke at 6 am this morning to the sound of prayers from the nearby mosques . Having experienced yesterday's weather I added a layer to the pile of awaiting jumpers. Before hurrying upstairs for an early breakfast.
Armaan : after lunch we arrived at Gallipoli battlefield. Firstly we stopped at te Anzac cove. This is where the new Zealand and austrailian soldiers went to war.
Ishaan: 7 hour bus ride to gallipoli .... Ugh ... Saw dead soldier graves
Coco:as we arrived in our luxury bedrooms we smiled .finally some rest ! But wait another knock on the door and it turned out tht it was just time to go for supper , besides I hadn't eaten much except sweets today.

Day Three-Gallipoli
Our Gallipoli adventure began at 6:30am. After a quick breakfast in the common room we boarded the coach at 7:30 and embarked on our 5 hour drive. Our trip was delayed by 2 hours due to snow which meant extra time in the warm, comfortable coach! On arrival at Gallipoli we entered a large cemetery from the war over the Dardanelles straight. Australian, Turkish and New Zealanders were thought to be buried there. There were over 50 Turkish cemeteries at the site! Our guide told us many interesting stories from the battlefield itself of heroic and considerate soldiers from both sides. After 2 hours jumping in and out of the coach and fighting our own little battle with the cold, we caught a ferry, taking us close to our hotel. We arrived at the Anzac Hotel at 6:00pm and had an hour of relaxation and settling in. After writing our own diary entries we are now about to go and get some dinner!!

Interview With Nick!
We have interviewed one of our fellow comrades Nick Makey about his experiences so far on our Istanbul trip.
How are you finding Istanbul so far?
So far it has been really exiting but a little too cold.
What has been your favourite activity and why?
Eating at the Palatium restaurant because it's cosy, relaxed and nice to get out of the cold!
Do you like the hotel?
Lovely setting. nice rooms generous people running it.

Topkapi palace!
Today after a great breakfast overlooking the sea, we headed out and walked to the Topkapi Palace. Although the freezing weather tried its best, spirits stayed high! An ambitious dog, chewing our clothes, tried its best to be taken home with us but we were having none of it! The luxurious Palace was home to many Sultans years and years ago. We also viewed a dazzling array of sparkling jewels and holy relics. After enduring the cold we searched for a place for lunch. We ended up in a restaurant called the pudding shop. (A name which Karlo thought was silly!) We have spent a long time in the restaurant enjoying the warm and taking a well earned rest!!
